Job summary

The Salvation Army Grand Forks Thrift Store is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and staff coordination at 3401 South 31st Street in Grand Forks. The role focuses on merchandising, sales, and ensuring a positive donor and shopper experience.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, cash handling basics, inventory flow, floor presentation, and community engagement to advance the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years of retail experience, preferably in a non-profit or thrift store setting.
• Must pass background checks and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Store Operations Support: opening/closing, basic cash handling, follow policies.
• Inventory & Merchandising: assist pricing, display, and rotation of donated items.
• Customer Service: answer questions and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Sales Floor Support: assist promotions and keep displays stocked.
• Facility Upkeep: maintain clean, safe store environment.
• Donor & Community Interaction: greet donors and support community engagement.
