Overview

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Assistant Store Manager is responsible for directing all business processes at their assigned store and delivering positive results. This role requires competence in all departments, both perishable and non-perishable, to ensure the team executes programs and processes to drive sales and efficiency. The Assistant Store Manager inspires and motivates a team committed to providing superior customer service in a fast-paced, friendly environment, adhering to safety, labeling, health, and weights and measures standards. They oversee the store in the absence of the Store Manager, focusing on store sales, team engagement, and customer advocacy through strong leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Shape store culture by modeling leadership behaviors aligned with Sprouts values.
  • Develop the store leadership team to deliver an exceptional customer experience by motivating and engaging team members.
  • Lead a team of approximately ten people, including Department Managers and Receivers, with respect, integrity, and care.
  • Motivate and develop management by embracing and modeling Sprouts leadership behaviors.
  • Celebrate successes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by training team members to exceed expectations.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge when assisting customers and training staff.
  • Communicate expectations, policies, new initiatives, and product knowledge effectively.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback to foster collaboration.
  • Address emergencies, crises, and equipment failures with urgency.
  • Manage inventory, labor, and expenses to meet sales targets (P&L ownership).
  • Ensure compliance with safety and food safety standards, measured through audits.
  • Address safety, security, and loss prevention concerns with the BPS team.
  • Maintain compliance with all legal and company regulations regarding labor, health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Drive sales growth and store experience by adhering to Educate and Enrich standards.
  • Manage inventory effectively, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
  • Oversee invoicing, backroom organization, and store displays.
  • Ensure product freshness, accurate labeling, and pricing, and stay updated on sale prices.
