Family Dollar in Providence, RI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and ensure merchandise is organized and accessible.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, work in a high-energy environment, and supervise and train store associates while maintaining a safe, friendly store atmosphere. This is a full-time position at our Providence location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and develop others.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process payroll, scheduling, and cash handling per policy; support loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates.
