Position Purpose

Assistant Store Managers in Training are learning the various responsibilities and functions of roles such as Assistant Store Manager, Operations Assistant Store Manager, Night Operations Assistant Store Manager, and Specialty Assistant Store Manager. They will support the Store Manager in developing strategies to drive sales and profitability through effective leadership and communication with associates.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise customer service initiatives, including staffing, stock management, and store appearance, while supporting sales efforts and resolving customer issues.
• Manage store associates through interviewing, hiring, coaching, training, and performance reviews, including disciplinary processes.
• Oversee operations such as sales transactions, merchandise receiving, and back-end processes, ensuring safety and SOP compliance.
• Drive department profitability through sales trend analysis, merchandise planning, and inventory management.

Reporting and Travel

• Report to a Store Manager and gradually assume supervisory responsibilities.
• Typically require less than 10% overnight travel.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Primarily seated with opportunities to move; occasional lifting of light items.
• Indoor, comfortable environment with infrequent unpleasant conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18, eligible to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED; 3 years of work experience; no leadership experience required.
