Job summary

JCPenney in Massachusetts, Wrentham, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in building a high-performing team and delivering a premier customer experience. You will help execute store operations, drive sales, and maintain a visually appealing environment that energizes associates and customers alike.

You will partner with the Store Manager to lead the team, develop talent, and ensure merchandising standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Co/Assistant Manager in similar volume, apparel business.
• Proven track record of exceeding sales and statistical expectations.
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends.
• Occasional travel to other store locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to create action plans to achieve results and grow the business.
• Demonstrate product knowledge, selling and operational skills to maximize sales.
• Engage with customers to build relationships and brand loyalty using company tools.
• Develop team members who are committed to delivering a great customer experience.
• Oversee division of responsibility and be accountable for results.
• Support standards for merchandising and operations across the store.
• Learn all aspects of the business and share ideas to drive the business.
• Remain composed under pressure and handle challenges and changes.
• Perform POS transactions on designated shifts and take on management duties in the Store Manager’s absence.
