Job summary

Family Dollar in Virginia Beach is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help run daily activities, organize merchandise, and ensure store standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Assist customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
