Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Ravenna, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. You will work under the Store Manager to supervise staff, manage merchandise, and ensure smooth daily operations.

You will assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings and compliance, while protecting assets and maximizing profitability. You will also perform stocking and cashier duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and rotating merchandise, and building displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure merchandise is presented as directed.
• Ensure cash handling integrity; cashier accountability, refunds, overrides, tills, and bank deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
