Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations in Shelbyville, TN. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, and support training and development of store associates.

You will help manage merchandise flow, ensure store cleanliness, and participate in opening/closing procedures while upholding company policies and safety standards. This role offers part-time hours and opportunities for growth within retail leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking/standing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Must read and follow operational directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and information requests related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom according to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
