Spring Step Shoes at Tanger Outlets Myrtle Beach is seeking an energetic Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations, lead on the sales floor, coach the team, and drive strong customer experiences. This hands-on leadership role involves scheduling, merchandising, and staff development to meet store goals.

You will partner with the Store Manager, mentor associates, and uphold brand standards while maintaining a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of retail experience, preferably in a sales-driven environment.
• Previous supervisory, key-holder, or retail leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Footwear, fashion, apparel, or accessories experience is a plus.
• Strong customer service and selling skills with the ability to motivate others.
• Comfortable coaching employees and providing clear, constructive feedback.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer applications.
• Dependable, professional, and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to achieve store sales goals and performance expectations.
• Lead by example on the sales floor to create a welcoming customer experience.
• Coach and motivate Sales Associates to strengthen product knowledge and selling skills.
• Build a positive, accountable, results-driven team culture.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of store associates.
• Assist with employee performance and day-to-day team matters with Store Manager guidance.
• Maintain product presentation, merchandising, and visual standards per company direction.
• Support promotions, marketing initiatives, and seasonal product launches.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing to maintain coverage and productivity.
• Support inventory management, stock counts, and organization.
• Follow opening/closing procedures, cash-handling, and daily deposits.
• Help protect assets by following loss-prevention procedures.
• Step into store leadership when the Store Manager is unavailable.
