Job summary

Foot Locker is seeking an Assistant Store Manager (ASM) to lead with energy and ownership on the sales floor. You will support the Store Manager in driving sales, coaching the team, and ensuring a high-energy, customer-first store environment.

You will supervise daily operations, mentor staff, and help execute store priorities while maintaining Foot Locker’s standards and brand experience for customers across the Wellington location.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of retail experience, preferably in a leadership or key holding role.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and engage a diverse team.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable, self motivated, and ready to take ownership.
• Basic understanding of retail KPIs and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor with energy and ownership.
• Coach the team to deliver great service and share product knowledge.
• Support sales goals by staying engaged on the floor and helping close the loop with customers.
• Help manage daily store operations including opening/closing, cash handling, and floor coverage.
• Move with purpose to keep the store organized and customer ready.
• Follow safety, loss prevention, and SOPs to protect customers and products.
• Take an owner/operator mindset by addressing issues and maintaining standards.
• Leverage retail technology to enhance the customer experience and support store operations.
