Job summary

Shoe Carnival is seeking a dependable Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, act as a key holder, and lead by example in a full-time role focused on a customer-first environment. You will open/close the store, support the General Manager in reaching sales goals, lead customer service, train associates, and manage tasks including merchandising and cash handling.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in retail or customer service, supervisory experience is a plus, and must be 18+

Qualifications

• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• 2+ years of retail or customer service experience.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must be able to complete Key Carrier Certification within 60 days.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be 18 years or older due to keyholder responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as a key holder.
• Support the General Manager in reaching sales goals.
• Lead customer service efforts and resolve issues professionally.
• Train and guide associates on processes and standards.
• Delegate daily tasks and coordinate breaks.
• Assist with visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Perform register overrides, safe/till counts, and cash reconciliation.
• Follow and promote loss prevention procedures.
