Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Plainfield location. This part-time role involves assisting with day-to-day activities, merchandising, and ensuring a positive shopping environment.

You will help with opening/closing procedures, follow corporate directives, and support loss prevention while maintaining a well-stocked store. This position offers hands-on leadership in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties (standing, walking, bending, lifting).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain storefront fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets and cash.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
