Job summary

Dollar Tree in Cresco, IA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and help supervise and train store associates on a part-time basis.

The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, well-stocked store, executing opening/closing procedures, and ensuring policy compliance while delivering friendly service to customers and leadership to the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking and bending
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize merchandise and maintain seasonal areas of the store
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and keeping records
• Maintain a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
