Job summary

The Salvation Army is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Decatur, IN. This part-time role supports the Store Manager with daily operations, staff supervision, and customer service. You will help drive sales, ensure safety, and help manage banking and records.

Training is provided and a strong team environment is emphasized. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, with ongoing coaching and opportunities to develop retail and customer service

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of retail experience, thrift experience a plus.
• Valid driver's license required for occasional location travel.
• Strong English communication skills are necessary.
• Basic computer skills including POS software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in day-to-day operations and supervision.
• Support production, sales, and store maintenance to meet goals.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with policies.
• Manage banking and record-keeping procedures as needed.
• Contribute to customer development and a positive shopping experience.
• Assist with budgeting and expense tracking alongside management.
• Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff.
• Participate in, and benefit from, on-the-job training.
