Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Providence, RI to support store operations, customer service, and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, guide associates, ensure safety and compliance, help maintain attractive merchandising, and deliver a positive shopping experience.

This role requires strong communication, leadership, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs; part-time schedule with growth opportunities and training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail or similar environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked, organized store and stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, professional environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
