Karl Lagerfeld Paris in Carlsbad, CA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager in driving sales, developing associates, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will lead by example, coach your team, and help ensure the store operates efficiently and reflects our brand standards.

In this role, you will mentor staff, support scheduling and payroll, assist with floor sets, manage inventory, and build customer relationships through outreach and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of specialty retail leadership experience, fashion retail preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales and coach associates.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Postsecondary education in retail management or related field is a plus.

Job description

At Karl Lagerfeld Paris, our Assistant Store Managers partner with the Store Manager to drive sales, develop associates, and deliver an exceptional customer experience. They lead by example, coach their teams, and help ensure the store runs efficiently and reflects our brand standards.

Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Experience

• Support store sales goals by monitoring performance, identifying opportunities, and coaching associates on selling skills.
• Meet personal sales goals and lead by example through attentive service and product knowledge.
• Build customer relationships through client outreach, appointment setting, and follow-up.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and in accordance with company policies.

Leadership & Team Development

• Partner with the Store Manager to communicate priorities, set expectations, and hold associates accountable.
• Lead the store in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Direct daily activities, assign tasks, and adjust floor coverage to meet customer and business needs.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training.
• Provide timely coaching and feedback, recognize strong performance, and communicate performance concerns to the Store Manager.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive environment where associates feel supported and understand expectations.

Store Operations & Visual Merchandising

• Support opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily operational requirements.
• Help maintain accurate inventory through receiving, replenishment, inventory counts, and adherence to loss prevention procedures.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, signage, and store cleanliness meet company standards.
• Assist with floor sets and merchandising changes.
• Support scheduling and effective use of payroll in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures, and promptly report concerns through the appropriate channels.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of specialty retail experience in a leadership role; fashion retail experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales, coach associates, and support daily store operations.
• Experience building customer relationships through outreach, appointments, and client follow-up.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to organize priorities and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Postsecondary education in retail management or a related field is a plus.
