Job summary

Family Dollar in Winder, GA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with merchandising, open/close procedures, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and training of store associates while maintaining a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cashier deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and general presentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
