Job summary

Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories, headquartered in NC, seeks an Assistant Store Manager for its Fayetteville, NC location. You will assist the Store Manager in sales, operations, and asset protection to deliver a great customer experience and maximize store profitability.

You will supervise merchandising, inventory, and staff development while ensuring policy compliance and safety. Minimal travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in sales.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must PASS a background and a drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in daily operations including sales and customer service.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory control, loss prevention, restocking, store cleaning.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable on all products and teamwork with coworkers.
• Assist with development and implementation of marketing strategies to drive sales.
• Help manage cash and inventory levels according to company standards.

Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. We serve our residential, commercial, fleet, and government customers through our 150+ retail store locations in eighteen states, supported by our corporate offices (in Mount Airy, NC, and Cobden, IL), distribution centers, and strategically located manufacturing facilities.

Job Summary

The Leonard Assistant Store Manager has the Fayetteville, NC sales lot with operations in the U.S. and has overall responsibility for assisting the Store Manager in managing the sales, operations, and asset protection functions of the store to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. This position reports directly to the store manager and does not have direct reports.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists the Store Manager in all areas of daily operations including sales, customer service, and staff coordination.
• Assists with merchandising, inventory control, loss prevention, restocking, store cleaning,
• Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable on all products offered and teaming up with co-workers to provide excellent sales service.
• Assists with the development and implementation of marketing strategies for the store to drive sales.
• Helps manage cash and inventory levels according to company standards.
• Assists in the training and development of staff to enhance sales and service performance, operational effectiveness, and positive customer interaction.
• Ensures the store is in compliance with all company policies and operational guidelines.
• Achieves financial objectives by effectively controlling expenses.
• Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers to understand service needs.
• Protects employees and customers by providing a safe, clean, and well-organized store.

Education/Experience Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, a related field, or equivalent job experience is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in sales.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout the store and outdoor areas.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items that weigh up to 50 pounds regularly, including truck accessories and trailer parts.
• Ability to maneuver effectively around the sales floor, stockroom, and loading/unloading areas.
• Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to handle tools and truck parts.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions as some activities occur outdoors.
• Tolerance for environments with dust and loud noise.
