Job summary

Nation's Best Holdings at Calaveras Lumber in Angels Camp, CA 95221 is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations, open/close procedures, scheduling, and staff supervision.

You will lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, oversee inventory and merchandising, manage shipments and counts, and help drive sales goals while mentoring staff and ensuring safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional management/retail certifications a plus.
• 3-5 years of retail experience with 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role.
• Strong knowledge of hardware, tools, lumber, or building materials; familiarity with retail operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager with operations, including opening/closing procedures, staff supervision, scheduling and task delegation.
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring adherence to service standards.
• Oversee daily merchandising and inventory management to maintain product availability and presentation.
• Supervise and participate in receiving shipments, cycle counts, stock monitoring and shrink control.
• Assist in meeting or exceeding store performance goals and drive sales initiatives.
• Mentor staff, address performance concerns, and participate in staff meetings and evaluations.
