If you enjoy working hard in a fast-paced environment, then join our growing team.What You Will Do and How You Will Contribute:Support the Store Manager with all aspects of operations, including opening/closing procedures, staff supervision, scheduling and task delegationLead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring team adherence to service standardsOversee and participate in daily merchandising and inventory management to maintain optimal product availability and presentationSupervise and actively participate in inventory management, including receiving shipments, conducting cycle counts, monitoring stock levels, and implementing shrink control measuresHelp execute sales initiatives and contribute to meeting or exceeding store performance goalsActively participate in training and mentoring staff, supporting their development and addressing performance concerns as neededAssist in conducting team meetings, communicating daily objectives and fostering a collaborative team culturePartner with the Store Manager on staff evaluations, employee relations matters and procedural complianceEnsure the facility is maintained to company standards, including cleanliness, safety and functionality of store systems and vehiclesMonitor and help enforce compliance with safety policies, procedures and operational protocolsHandle special orders, investigate customer issues (returns, credits) and maintain regular outbound communication to grow customer relationshipsAssist with the implementation of operational improvements, store resets, vendor program execution and corporate initiativesPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support store operations and business needsWhat You Will Bring to Our Team:High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional education or certifications in management or retail operations are a plusMinimum 3–5 years of retail experience with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant management roleStrong working knowledge of hardware, tools, lumber, or building materialsProficient in POS systems and basic business software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Epicor)Proven ability to motivate, guide, and develop a teamExceptional customer service and problem-solving skillsComfortable working in a physical, hands-on environment (lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted; more with help)Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededResults-oriented with the ability to serve stores with humility and be a steward of Nation’s Best’s valuesDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexibleStrong interpersonal skills with a willingness to consistently provide superior customer service skillsWhat’s It Like To Work for Nation’s Best?Teamwork: All of our positions, in all of our stores, are hands-on.
