Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, customer-first store and lead daily operations. Under the Store Manager’s guidance, you’ll supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete deposits, and support profitability and loss prevention.

You will perform stocking and cashiering duties, train employees, schedule shifts, and ensure compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service leadership and operate the cash register accurately.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, planograms, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, control damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure cash accountability, deposits, and bank transfers; support store operations.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
