Job Overview

As an Assistant Store Manager, your responsibilities include:

1. Producing sales gains by providing excellent customer service.
2. Meeting or exceeding company objectives in all individual statistics.
3. Providing consistent, documented appraisals of sales performance and offering feedback to staff.
4. Adhering to visual merchandising guidelines, signage, and store cleanliness standards.
5. Maintaining a professional appearance in line with the company dress code.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Control Expenses

1. Protect company assets according to retail policies.
2. Assist in creating store work schedules within wage control guidelines.
3. Manage inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, pricing, and counting products.
4. Perform proper documentation and record keeping in compliance with policies and laws.
5. Open and close the store following standard procedures.

Supervision and Staff Management

1. Act as the store manager on duty when necessary.
2. Manage staff through training, goal setting, and follow-up.
3. Handle scheduling and staffing, including calling in staff for peak times.
4. Participate in recruiting, training, and ensuring policy compliance among staff.
5. Perform duties of subordinates as needed and communicate effectively at all levels.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Ability to achieve sales results while minimizing loss.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficiency and ability to operate relevant software.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work with hands overhead.
• Standing for up to 100% of the work time and ability to work independently.
