About Our Company: General Position Summary

Generate Sales

  • Produce sales gains by providing excellent customer service.
  • Meet or exceed company objectives in all individual statistics.
  • Provide consistent, documented appraisals of associates' sales performance, offering feedback on strengths and opportunities aligned with company objectives.
  • Adhere to current visual guidelines, including proper merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the company dress code policy.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Control Expenses

  • Protect company assets within LIDS Retail policies.
  • Assist in preparing store work schedules that ensure proper coverage and wage control.
  • Manage store inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, pricing, and conducting product counts.
  • Complete accurate product counts consistently and promptly.
  • Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping per policies and legal requirements.
  • Open and close the store following procedures outlined in the Operations P&P Manual.

Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise Associates

  • Act as Store Manager on duty for scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc., in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Manage store associates through training programs, goal setting, and regular follow-up.
  • Implement disciplinary actions, including verbal and written warnings when necessary.
  • Schedule and staff the store, including calling in associates during unexpected peaks.
  • Participate in training programs, set goals, and conduct follow-ups.
  • Assist in recruiting and training store personnel on operations and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including inventory and funds security.
  • Perform duties of subordinates as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to generate sales results while minimizing loss.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in operating computers and relevant software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work with hands overhead.
  • Standing required for up to 100% of the work time.
  • Ability to work independently.

Preferred Job Knowledge & Skills

Assistant store managers can earn up to 45% above local minimum wage based on experience. They are eligible for monthly sales bonuses and a 40% employee discount. Full-time employees may also receive benefits including Paid Time Off, health, vision, dental, and 401(k).
