General Summary

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and assisting the Store Manager in daily operations. Responsibilities include maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Greets and assists customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answers questions and resolves customer inquiries and concerns.
• Maintains a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
• Ensures a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
• Supervises, trains, and develops Store Associates on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures, under the Store Manager's direction.
• Assists in unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store.
• Helps in ordering merchandise and record keeping, including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Supports loss prevention efforts.
• Assumes management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to interpret operational directives.
• Experience: Preferably in retail, grocery, or drug store management.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 55 lbs. Must meet physical demands of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Availability: Flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills & Competencies: Customer focus, potential development, results orientation, organizational and communication skills, problem-solving, and relationship management.
