Job description

General Description

Generate sales by providing excellent customer service and meeting or exceeding company objectives. Support sales performance evaluation by providing consistent, documented feedback, focusing on strengths and opportunities in line with company goals. Ensure adherence to visual merchandising standards, signage, and store cleanliness. Maintain a professional appearance according to the company dress code.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Control Expenses

• Protect company assets according to LIDS Retail policies.
• Assist in preparing store work schedules to ensure proper coverage and control wages.
• Manage store inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, pricing, and conducting product counts.
• Perform timely and consistent product counts and proper documentation in compliance with policies and laws.
• Open and close the store following operational procedures.

Additional Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise Associates

• Act as Store Manager on duty during absences, handling scheduling issues, customer complaints, etc.
• Manage store associates through training, goal setting, and follow-up in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Handle staffing, including calling in associates during peak times.
• Participate in training programs, adhere to goals, and follow up regularly.
• Assist in recruiting and training staff on store operations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safeguarding inventory, funds, and property.
• Perform subordinate tasks when needed.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Required Knowledge & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent plus at least one year of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to generate sales while minimizing loss.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and relevant software.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with hands overhead, including climbing ladders.
• Standing for up to 100% of the work time.
• Ability to work independently.
