Rusty Lantern Markets in Kennebunk, ME is seeking a full-time Assistant Store Manager to lead the fresh departments (meat, deli and prepared foods) and partner with store leadership to deliver quality, safety and outstanding service. You’ll hire, train and develop teammates, champion food safety, and help achieve sales and operational goals in a fast-paced environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coaching from the floor and making a visible impact on customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must have strong understanding of mid-sized grocery store operations.
• Experience leading or supervising teams in food service, retail, grocery or hospitality.
• Flexibility to work a second-shift schedule and weekends.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience in a fresh foods or kitchen-driven environment.

Responsabilités

• Lead, coach, and support associates across Fresh departments to deliver consistent quality and service.
• Build an inclusive, respectful environment where team members feel valued and customers feel welcome.
• Hire, train, and develop teammates using established tools and best practices.
• Champion food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee product receiving, preparation, merchandising, and presentation.
• Maintain accurate records for production, inventory, shrink, and sales.
• Use company systems for scheduling, ordering, reporting, and performance tracking.
• Support financial goals including sales growth, labor efficiency, shrink control, and gross margin.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across departments.
