Job summary

Genuine Parts Company, through its NAPA brands, seeks an Assistant Store Manager to operate a busy auto parts store in California. You will lead daily store functions, coach staff, drive sales, and maintain excellent customer service while handling counter sales, inventory, and delivery coordination.

This role offers a developmental path toward Store Manager, with potential overtime and keyholder responsibilities; you will partner with the Store Manager to ensure store continuity and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive aftermarket or willingness to learn automotive topics.
• Leadership experience.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment.
• Knowledge of cataloging/inventory systems.
• Able to lift 60 lbs.
• Experience in parts store/retail management.
• ASE Certifications a plus.
• NAPA Know How.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships in retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting).
• Handle or support scheduling input, compliance documentation, performance tracking/reporting.
• Monitor core store metrics (sales, inventory, satisfaction, cleanliness, labor efficiency).
• Provide leadership oversight, training and performance management for store functions.
