Job summary

J.Crew Group seeks an Assistant Manager to join the leadership team and drive profitability through genuine customer connections and brand loyalty. You will coach the sales team and collaborate with the leadership group to adapt strategies for business success and ensure smooth operational support.

You will support the Store Director and Associate Store Manager, oversee designated areas, and participate in recruiting, training, and development as needed.

Qualifications

• Have 1-2 years of retail management experience with a similar scope.
• Passionately support our brand, customers, and teams.
• Stay up to date with current fashion trends and industry developments.
• Embrace teamwork, flexibility, and courtesy while executing tasks.
• Innovate and champion new ideas while navigating uncertainty, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
• Have scheduling flexibility, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must bend, reach, stretch for product and lift/move at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Director & Associate Store Manager to impact business results while maximizing profitability.
• Own your division of responsibility (Visual Merchandising, Operations, HR, Service & Selling).
• Manage store operations, systems, and technology with accountability.
• Assist Store Director & Associate Store Manager with recruiting, training and development, if needed.
• Partner to create a collaborative working environment for all associates.
• Ensure the team stays on track to exceed goals and provide best-in-class service.
• Lead fit sessions to boost product knowledge and customer connections.
• Develop innovative ways to engage the community and build loyalty through events.
• Step into various roles on the sales floor as needed.
