As a full-time Assistant Store Manager, you are passionate about providing the best shoe store experience for the whole family through customer engagement. You act as the store leader in the absence of the Store Manager, developing your ability to motivate a team to achieve sales targets and growth goals. You support an in-store culture where customers feel valued and loyal to your store, our brands, and our company. You stay up-to-date on trends, support the education of your team, and love shoes, helping every customer experience the Famous Feeling.

What You’ll Be Doing
  1. Inspire the Customer Connection: Foster a culture of caring and camaraderie focused on customer relationships and operational excellence. Use coaching to enhance selling behaviors that build customer loyalty.
  2. Champion Talent Discovery: Seek out and network with exceptional external talent. Collaborate with the Store Manager to interview and hire passionate individuals committed to creating top-notch customer experiences.
  3. Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: Manage daily operations including pricing, shipping, inventory, and staffing levels to ensure the store runs smoothly and styles are easily shoppable.
  4. Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: Take accountability for your goals, drive sales, and continually improve results by applying insights and observations.
  5. Be a Culture Builder: Promote diversity and inclusivity, maintain a positive environment, and lead by example to increase retention and team performance.
  6. Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: Step in during the Store Manager’s absence, ensure policy compliance, and develop internal talent.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
  • Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends.
  • Basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements & Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Extended periods on the sales floor.
