Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Beaufort, SC is seeking an Assistant Manager to support Store Manager in daily operations and customer service excellence. You will assist with merchandising, restocking, ordering, and scheduling while upholding store policies and driving store goals.

The role requires knowledge of product areas, strong communication, and leadership to act in the Store Manager's absence. You will help with recruiting, training, inventory analysis, and promoting merchandise.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear or athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.
• Team-player with passion for outstanding service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling store assets and operations.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Take responsibility for the entire store in the Store Manager's absence.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating personnel.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across all departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department tasks and standards are met.
• Maintain awareness of inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure quality customer service is delivered.
• Perform general administrative duties and understand Store Manager responsibilities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and promote merchandise.
• Promote services and merchandise offered by the store.
• Uphold all company policies and procedures.
• Protect assets and financial information by following internal controls.
