Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Wisconsin to uphold a customer-first store environment. You will assist the Store Manager with daily operations, scheduling, training, and ensuring merchandising standards and cash controls are followed.

You will also help manage inventory, deposits, and loss prevention while supporting a fast-paced team. This role emphasizes operational excellence and customer satisfaction in a retail setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, operate cash register, and itemize purchases.
• Open and close store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise: receive, unpack, stock, restock, and build displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and monitor damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planograms and product presentation as directed.
• Ensure cashier accountability, cash control, and bank deposits.
• Support Store Manager in absence and during busy periods.
