Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and help ensure smooth floors, stockrooms, and front-end presentation.

You will lead by example, train and develop Store Associates, maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, handle opening/closing procedures, payroll records, scheduling, and loss prevention, while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure associates follow policies
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
