Job summary

Dollar Tree in Carmel, IN is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and help supervise Store Associates to maintain a welcoming, efficient storefront.

Responsibilities include organizing merchandise, processing deliveries, opening/closing procedures, and ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform lifting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling repeatedly.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required; ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas so the sales floor is well-stocked and stockroom is organized.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
