Job summary

Dollar Tree in Columbia, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily activities, support customers, and help manage merchandise flow and store standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, prior store management experience preferred, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. This is a full-time, on-site position with opportunity to lead and train staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized; protect company assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies; ensure staff follows procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team.
• Ensure cleanliness and housekeeping across the store; restock and tidy bathrooms, floors, and trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
