Makers Market in downtown Lafayette is seeking an entrepreneurial Assistant Store Manager to lead our beautiful shop and grow the American Made brand. This is a great opportunity to make your mark by managing our store and helping to grow our beloved brand.

You will work with the Store Manager to meet sales goals, manage staff, train and develop the team, and ensure exceptional customer service, visual merchandising, and brand standards across the store.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in retail, preferably in boutique settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or Art preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving sales goals.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lead by example and coach staff; flexible schedule including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Help the store manager meet sales goals and train staff.
• Maintain a strong, friendly sales floor presence and lead by example.
• Assist with visual merchandising and brand presentation.
• Serve as brand ambassador with product knowledge.
• Oversee store operations including opening/closing and cash handling.
• Coordinate events and inventory management.
• Grow customer base through email capture and community outreach.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and price accuracy on shipments.
