Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to apply automotive and customer service expertise to operate our NAPA store and lead the market in parts supply. You will support the Store Manager across store functions while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities.

This role develops into a Store Manager track, with potential overtime and keyholder duties opening/closing the store as needed to ensure continuity and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade courses or degree preferred.
• Experience in automotive aftermarket or hobby/DIY; willingness to learn all things automotive.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels (in-store, phone, dealer/wholesale calls).
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute opening/closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting, facility readiness).
• Handle administrative tasks: scheduling, documentation, performance tracking, and basic P&L awareness.
• Monitor store metrics (sales, inventory, customer satisfaction, cleanliness, labor efficiency, loss prevention) and drive solutions.
• Provide leadership oversight, coaching and performance management for store functions and continuity.
• Support talent development: coaching and mentoring for advancement.
• Drive adherence to safety, asset protection, and continuous improvement.
