Job summary

Tharp Consulting is seeking a motivated store operations associate in Youngstown, OH. Under supervision, you will manage non-perishable food and merchandise operations, support inventory, presentation, and customer service to keep the store efficient and profitable.

You will follow procedures for receiving and stocking, assist with opening/closing, cash handling, and ensure accurate inventory, safety, and excellent service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 55 pounds occasionally; frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching.
• Experience with merchandise handling, equipment use (scanners, pricing guns, carts), and basic store operations.
• Strong attention to safety, inventory control, and adherence to policies.
• Flexibility to assist in various store tasks, including management support and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, stock merchandise and build displays.
• Open/close the store, handle cash, refunds, and deposits.
• Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory levels, plan-o-grams, and signage.
• Ensure correct merchandise presentation and manage damages/markdowns.
• Conduct safety meetings and maintain a clean, secure environment.
• Provide excellent customer service and operate the cash register.
• Support store workflows and stocking standards.

Under supervision, manages Non-Perishable Food and Merchandise Operations, supporting inventory management, merchandise presentation, and customer service to ensure store efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for receiving, unpacking, and stocking merchandise; build displays and rotate stock.
• Assist with opening and closing the store, cash handling, refunds, and bank deposits, ensuring financial integrity and security.
• Support store management in scheduling, ordering, and maintaining inventory levels; implement plan-o-grams and signage.
• Ensure merchandise presentation aligns with standards, control damages and markdowns, and assist with inventory accuracy.
• Conduct safety meetings, maintain a clean and secure environment, and facilitate a safe shopping experience.
• Provide excellent customer service, operate cash register, and assist with store operations following policies and procedures.
• Help execute stocking standards, manage merchandise staging, and support store workflows.
