The Salvation Army International is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations at the ARC – Adult Rehabilitation Center in Waldorf, MD. You will supervise store staff, help maintain inventory, and assist in customer service, pricing and policy enforcement.

Assists in supervising store employees and participates in the day-to-day operations of the store and warehouse ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; ensures the accountability and security of cashier funds; maintains the neatness and attractiveness of store merchandise ensuring that displays remain well-stocked; assists customer in locating items and prices and explains store policy; assists employees in resolving routine problems and performing special assignments; assumes the responsibilities of the Store Manager when needed. Maintains a positive working atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner that will establish and promote a professional working relationship with vendors, donors, customers, beneficiaries, coworkers and management.
High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred and experience working in a retail store preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to successfully work with a variety of personalities and people in a positive manner. Limited physical effort required associated with sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, 75% to 100% of the work time and carrying light objects (generally less than 25 lbs.) 75-100% of work time.
Work is performed in a normal store environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with weather changes.
