Position Overview

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in maintaining a customer-centric environment by prioritizing customer needs and driving sales. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager manages daily store operations, staffing, and inventory. This role involves collaborating with the Store Manager to lead a team of Associates and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

1. Manage sales and expenses to optimize results.
2. Support Store Manager in staffing, ensuring excellent customer service.
3. Ensure adequate shift coverage and scheduling, including covering shifts when needed.
4. Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training Associates.
5. Maintain store standards around cleanliness, organization, and visual presentation.
6. Support building a culture of collaboration and accountability.
7. Understand sales goals and align team behaviors accordingly.
8. Supervise and train staff in the Store Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of retail sales experience.
• 1-2 years in retail management.
• Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Effective customer engagement skills.
• Basic merchandising and visual skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift at least 10 pounds.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Ability to work single shifts independently.
