Job Summary

Assist the Store Manager and Manager In Training with recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel to meet sales goals, control expenses, and safeguard assets.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Meet and exceed sales goals and performance standards.
  2. Assist in recruiting and hiring high-caliber employees.
  3. Train and develop the sales team.
  4. Provide feedback, coaching, and enforce company policies.
  5. Implement company initiatives effectively.
  6. Recognize and develop talented staff for growth.
  7. Manage daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and Manager In Training.
  8. Oversee Loss Prevention practices.
  9. Communicate store needs effectively.
  10. Resolve customer issues efficiently.
  11. Ensure a fun, full-service customer experience.
  12. Complete bank deposits.
  13. Demonstrate and embody the Journeys culture.
Job Requirements
  1. Prior retail management experience preferred.
  2. 6–12 months retail sales experience.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  4. Desire to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment.
  5. Willingness to learn.
  6. Completion of training programs for Co-Manager or equivalent.
  7. Availability to work 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
  8. Ability to climb, reach, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.
  9. Must be at least 18 years old; age requirements may vary by state.
