Job summary

Shoe Carnival is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, act as a key holder, and drive a customer-first environment in a full-time role.

You will support the General Manager, lead customer service efforts, train associates, assist with visual merchandising, and perform cash reconciliation, with hands-on leadership training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two years of retail or customer service experience required.
• Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must obtain Key Carrier Certification within 60 days.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be at least 18 years old due to keyholder responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store as a key holder.
• Support the General Manager in reaching sales goals.
• Lead customer service efforts and resolve issues professionally.
• Train and guide associates on processes and standards.
• Delegate daily tasks and coordinate breaks.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Great customer service and a positive attitude
• At least 2 years of retail or customer service experience
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus
• Must be able to complete Key Carrier Certification within 60 days
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Due to keyholder responsibilities, including store opening/closing and equipment use, applicants must be at least 18 years of age

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs
• Comfortable bending, reaching, and working on your feet
