SUMMARY

Handmade happiness starts with you! The Assistant Store Manager is the right-hand leader to the Store Manager, responsible for daily operations, customer service, and team engagement. They coach, develop, and inspire the team, demonstrating leadership qualities similar to a Store Manager, and guide with confidence and passion.

JOB DUTIES

  • Develops long-lasting customer relationships by identifying and anticipating needs.
  • Acts as a brand ambassador for JOANN within the community.
  • Motivates and coaches the team to be excellent brand ambassadors.
  • Stays knowledgeable about products and trends.
  • Hands
    • Communicates initiatives, messages, and promotions.
    • Ensures operational policies and procedures are executed flawlessly.
    • Coaches the team to drive sales and exceed customer expectations.
    • Builds strategic plans and provides tools to achieve KPIs.
    • Handles freight by entering/exiting truck beds, unloading, and sorting merchandise.
  • Minds
    • Stays informed on industry trends and adapts to market relevance.
    • Analyzes reports to identify trends and develop strategies to meet goals.
    • Uses the FAST model to deliver sales and company objectives.
  • Inspire
    • Mentors the team to improve store performance.
    • Promotes continuous learning, teamwork, and appreciation.
    • Develops talent through succession planning and performance management.
    • Recruits, hires, and trains team members using onboarding tools.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Stand and walk throughout the shift.
    • Read and communicate effectively via written instructions and verbally.
    • Input data using computer and handheld devices.
    • Use radios for communication.
    • Move merchandise with carts, bins, and by lifting (up to 97 pounds in groups).
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Assist the Store Manager with duties and responsibilities as appropriate.

    AVAILABILITY & BENEFITS

    Full-time position requiring open availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Benefits include health plans, life insurance, disability, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and discounts. Relocation may be required.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
