Assistant Managers drive sales, services, and customer engagement in the store and ensure the store is ready for business. You and your team will establish customer relationships that build loyalty, provide total solutions to meet customer needs, and grow the business. You will guide your team in being positive, inclusive, and collaborative while helping your customers achieve their goals. Hiring immediately.

Provide strong leadership in community, customer service, sales, and team development.

  • Ensure that the store culture embodies Staples values and its commitment to the community
  • Develop a high-performing team focused on providing an exceptional store experience, consultative selling, driving conversions, and providing total solutions to every customer
  • Develop team through coaching, training, and role playing
  • Attain sales and service goals, profit margin, and execute store operations
  • Establish business cadence for sales readiness
  • Provide daily direction for merchandising opportunities within the store
  • Assist with delegating operational tasks in partnership with the GM
  • Share responsibility for total store operations and cost control, acting as the Floor Leader
  • Champion company initiatives, being adaptable and flexible to change and responsibilities
Essential Skills And Experience
  • 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services industry
  • Experience coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
  • Ability to engage and understand customer needs
  • Strong communication, organization, planning, and adaptability to changing priorities
  • Review results against goals and strategize for growth and improvement
  • Manage conflict cooperatively
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Ability to lift/move materials weighing 10-50 pounds, climb ladders, stand, and walk continuously
Preferred Skills And Experience
  • Experience using financial metrics to track sales and drive profitability
  • Ability to network and engage with the community
