Overview

Assistant Managers support the Store Manager and other team members in delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Manages the store team’s Guest Service behaviors, providing coaching to ensure that they greet all guests in a friendly manner to make them feel welcomed and to “make it right” for our guests.
- Support the Store Manager in building and developing a strong team through training, scheduling, coaching, and creating an engaging work environment that reflects the Company values.
- Partner with the Store Manager to achieve operational excellence and hit financial objectives on store promotions, sales objectives, controls, and related goals.
- Assist with maintaining store appearance and cleanliness (inside and out), including a clean coffee station, spotless food service area, and sparkling bathrooms; delegate tasks to maintain Company standards.
- Assist with quality control, merchandising, safety programs, and other guidelines for successful food service operation. Monitor product levels on the sales floor, including coolers and freezers, rotate stock, and keep product levels full to meet guest demand and the goal of 100% in-stock.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or designated person in charge in the Store Manager’s absence.

Store team members, Store Manager, District Manager, and various Corporate personnel and vendors.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: High School or GED
- Preferred Education: N/A
- Minimum Experience: 1 year retail or food experience; must complete Assistant Manager Training program before assigned to this role
- Preferred Experience: 1–2 years in retail, guest service, or restaurant in a leadership role
- Preferred Licenses/Certifications and Skills: ServSafe / Food Safety certification a plus but not mandatory
- Soft Skills: Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members; high energy; ability to move between activities quickly; team-oriented; computer skills helpful
- Scheduling: Primarily second shifts, must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Hours & Conditions: Full-time – 40 hours maximum
- Travel: 5–10% to cover store and attend meetings. Ability to deliver deposits to the bank independently (where applicable) and have own vehicle to do so.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver and lift up to 10 pounds routinely, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 40 pounds occasionally; stand/walk 8 hours a day; able to reach, bend, squat, twist, grasp, and work in cooler
- Other: Specialized attire required in food establishments (hats or visors, gloves provided)
- Additional Info: Desired previous job experience: 2 years retail management or 2 years non-retail management; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree; stable work history; proficient computer skills
