Job summary

Wild Bill's Tobacco is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Sandusky, Ohio to support the Store Manager in all store operations. You will lead employees, ensure excellent customer service, and drive sales while maintaining a welcoming environment for customers and staff.

This development role targets future Retail Store Manager progression. The position requires full-time hours, with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age 21+.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts when required.
• Standing for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and retaining store employees.
• Assist in managing and developing store employees for optimal performance in sales and store operations.
• Assist in developing teams selling skills.
• Assist in educating the team about the products sold in store.
• Ensure store operates smoothly and efficiently, including inventory, expenses, promotions, and scheduling.
• Provide excellent customer service, including handling inquiries and complaints, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
• Obtain product knowledge about all products and awareness of launches and promotions.
• Create relationships with customers to suggest products.
• Meet or exceed store sales and operational goals.
• Collaborate with Store Manager and staff to meet targets.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized store environment; enforce policies.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to the Store Manager on employees, operations, and sales issues.
• Manage all store operations daily, including inventory, cash handling, staffing, customer service, and cleanliness.
• Majority of hours spent on the sales floor greeting customers, coaching employees, and running the business.
• Open and close the store.
• Full-time hours with availability evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, including managing employees, ensuring excellent customer service, and maximizing sales. The Assistant Store Manager will help to develop and implement strategies to improve the store's performance and profitability while maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for customers and employees. This position is a development role that is intended for those who aspire to become a Retail Store Manager.

Responsibilities

• Obtain product knowledge about all products as well as awareness of current product launches and promotions.
• Create relationships with customers in order to suggest products.
• Meet or exceed store sales and operational goals.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager and other employees to ensure that the store meets or exceeds all operational and financial targets.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized store environment, including implementing and enforcing all company policies and procedures.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to the Store Manager on employees, operations, and sales issues, including but not limited to recommending process improvements, trainings, marketing strategies, and product offerings.
• Manage all store operations daily, including but not limited to inventory, cash handling, staffing, customer service, and cleanliness.
