As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers. Your key responsibilities include assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations, maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure the store is clean and well-stocked for customers.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures, under the Store Manager's direction.
• Assist in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing merchandise, and transferring items from the stockroom to the sales floor.
• Help the Store Manager with ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposit and receipt management.
• Support loss prevention efforts alongside the Store Manager.
• Assume management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

• Education: Preferably high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to interpret and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
• Experience: Preferably store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store settings.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift regularly up to 40 lbs., and occasionally up to 55 lbs., from floor to above shoulder height. Must meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Availability: Ability to work flexible, full-time hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills & Competencies: Customer focus, potential development, results-driven attitude, organizational skills, communication, problem-solving, job knowledge, and relationship management.
