Assistant Store Manager (Transportation)

We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Store Manager for our newest gourmet store located in Sayville, NY. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in implementing initiatives and achieving goals, focusing on business operations and merchandising. This role ensures smooth daily store responsibilities and operations.

Responsibilities

1. Manage store operations, including grocery and gourmet food production, inventory, staff, scheduling, merchandising, and customer service, in collaboration with the Store Manager.
2. Coordinate with all store departments to facilitate their functions and improve performance.
3. Conduct store walks to ensure shelves are stocked, inventory is correctly displayed, and cleanliness standards are maintained.
4. Work closely with Department Managers to ensure cleanliness, stock levels, and staffing are adequate.
5. Assign duties based on staff expertise to optimize service quality.
6. Handle customer complaints and returns professionally, fostering mutual satisfaction.
7. Prepare monthly performance reports for staff, identifying areas for improvement.
8. Maintain store cleanliness and sanitation consistently.
9. Implement safety measures to ensure a secure environment for staff and customers, and respond promptly to emergencies.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Understanding of safety hazards and prevention, adhering to store safety standards.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
