Overview

Big O Tire Assistant Store Managers supervise store operations and perform customer service duties in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all company programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring proper customer education and follow through on customer maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

  1. Build effective relationships with customers and store staff and motivate employees to deliver positive customer experiences.
  2. Ensure prompt and consistent opening and closing of location based on store hours of operation.
  3. Perform all aspects of store operations including but not limited to customer service, sales, shop management and office responsibilities.
  4. Promote sales through explaining benefits of service and products to customers.
  5. Perform vehicle inspections, print vehicle owner’s manual maintenance requirements, and prioritize and promote needed products and services with customers and management; consistently conduct work order reviews for accuracy.
  6. Perform management functions in the absence of the store manager.
  7. Assist in training and the execution of all company programs, policies, and procedures.
  8. Guide staff in the resolution of difficult questions or customer concerns.
  9. In coordination with the Store Manager, set goals and strategies to ensure the successful accomplishment of budgeted sales goals, gross profit percentages, expense control and payroll objectives.
  10. Assist the Store Manager with the financial aspects of store operations including reviewing and analyzing profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and payroll projections; maintaining accounts receivable and the collection of past due accounts; oversight of daily cash handling; coordinating and verifying daily bank deposit; and organizing, documenting, and processing all adjustments.
  11. Help monitor employee productivity in accordance with established policy.
  12. Assist the Store Manager with inventory replenishment bi-weekly and with month end physical inventory.
  13. Assist the Store Manager in completing any necessary reports and providing information to company personnel as directed in a timely manner.
  14. Attend and assist in the presentation of weekly store meetings to review safety issues, store policies, procedures, and product information changes as required.
  15. Manage ticket average and profitability and assist store manager in meeting company expectations.
  16. Ensure facilities and equipment are maintained according to company guidelines and in compliance with Big O Tires standards.
  17. Timely complete daily Today’s Class Technician and other required training.
  18. Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked.
  19. All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  1. 18 years of age or older.
  2. Ability to obtain the state appropriate Motor Vehicle Inspection license within one year of hire.
  3. Previous experience in retail or automotive sales or service.
  4. Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials.
  5. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages and percentages.
  6. Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  7. Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials.
  8. Ability to consistently work in outdoor weather conditions.
  9. Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  10. Ability and willingness to comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations.
  11. Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors.
  12. Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed.
  13. Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing up to 75 pounds.
  14. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  15. Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment screenings.
  16. Legal authorization to work in the United States of America.

Preferred Skills

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. Two years or more of experience in the retail or sales industries.
  3. Valid driver’s license.
  4. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  5. Ability to work at a fast pace.
  6. Ability to effectively lead a team.
  7. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities using time efficiently.
  8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
