Position Overview

The purpose of the Assistant Store Manager is to assist the Store Manager in planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring all aspects of the store operations to ensure continued growth and profitability.

Job Description

• Maintain basic store operations: quality, housekeeping, stock levels, clear pricing, and customer service.
• Practice profit control including merchandising follow-through, cost control, and shrink management.
• Review weekly production and merchandising plans for perishable departments.
• Act as manager on duty when needed, including opening/closing, enforcing procedures, and creating a positive environment.
• Travel required: No.

Environment

• Store: Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F).

Skills

• Basic computer skills, store management, food safety.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic math, operate POS systems, receive shipments, use Kronos, and pallet jack certification.
• Physical abilities include frequent standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and other physical activities.
• Other skills: Business insight, problem solving, communication, delegation, flexibility, leadership, organization, initiative.

Experience

• 3-5 years in supermarket industry with increasing responsibility and management training experience.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or High School Diploma in General Studies.
