POSITION PURPOSE
The individual in this position is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in achieving and exceeding the store's sales plan, ensuring profitable operations, and providing superior customer service. This includes managing resources such as store personnel, merchandise, cash, budget, and facilities. The Assistant Store Manager assumes supervisory responsibilities in the Manager's absence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Sales
- Partner with the Store Manager to meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets, contributing to overall company success.
- Model Lindt standards and core competencies, including leadership, commitment, passion, sales focus, and drive for results.
- Understand and communicate the store's sales mission effectively to staff.
- Quantifiably articulate store metrics and performance.
- Motivate staff, build brand commitment, and hold staff accountable for meeting KPIs and sales opportunities.
- Identify and pursue external sales opportunities, such as B2B contacts, networking events, and marketing.
- Manage inventory proactively to align stock levels with sales trends, minimizing out-of-stocks, overstocks, and outdated products.
Staff Development
- Assist with recruiting, managing, and developing store personnel per Lindt & Sprüngli standards to ensure a knowledgeable and friendly staff.
- Network proactively to find qualified candidates.
- Help train staff to company standards, ensuring daily operations and sales goals are met.
- Develop staff sales techniques and product knowledge to accurately represent the brand.
- Escalate issues promptly to the Store Manager and District Manager.
Operational Controls
- Ensure store meets operational standards for inventory control and shrink management.
- Manage cash handling, POS, paperwork, and logs according to policies.
- Maintain audit compliance, including store visits, loss prevention, and food safety.
- Oversee payroll and labor management.
- Follow store scheduling templates to meet business needs.
- Control expenses related to sampling, damages, and supplies.
- Adhere to company directives and policies in a timely manner.
- Comply with all quality assurance policies and procedures.
